Kanchenjunga is the elfin state of Sikkim which has wonderfully varied landscape of Himalayan region. The hill station of Kanchenjunga is grouping from purely a little hundred meters further than sea spot among some of the extreme peaks of the Himalaya. Sikkim and Kanchenjunga Trek stands for a trek from Delhi via Sikkim to Kanchenjunga destination.
Sikkim and Kanchenjunga Trek is the trek of 18 days tour. The tourists fly for Darjeeling via Bagdogra in its 1st and 2nd day of the tours. During their 3rd day of the visit the visitors moves towards Pemayangtse and further it Uttarey, Chewabhanjang, Chewabhanjang, Dhor, Dhor, Paharey Megu, Daphe Pass and Gomathang area under the Sikkim and Kanchenjunga Tour. In the 10th and further day trekkers runs towards Panding – Dzongri, Thansing, Samity Lake, Gocha La, Thansing, Lam Pokhari, Kasturi La, Kasturi Odar, Labdang, Tashiding, Martam and Gangtok. 17th day of the Sikkim and Kanchenjunga trek reaches to Gangtok and enjoys much. In the 18th day the trekker returns to delhi and in their last day visitors depart to their home with the memory of the everlasting moment of their trekking.
Day 1 : Arrive- Delhi
On arrival meeting and assistance at the Airport followed by the traditional welcome by garlanding and then escorted transfer to your hotel . Rest of the day at leisure . overnight at hotel .
Day 2 : Delhi – Bagdogra (by plane) – Darjeeling (2130 meters) by car.
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel, and transfer to the domestic airport to catch the flight for Bagdogra, Upon arrival at Bagdogra, will be met by our representative and drive towards Darjeeling charming 4-hour journey, through Assam tea plantations and tiny villages takes us to Darjeeling. Upon arrival at Darjeeling check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 : Darjeeling
Today, wake early in the morning to see the sunrise at Tiger Hill . Afterwards back to hotel to have your breakfast. Later we will visit the famous Ghoom monastery that enshrines an image of the Maitreya Buddha (the coming Buddha) and Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and tea plantations. In the evening back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4 : Darjeeling – Yuksom (125 KMS, 7 Hours)
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive towards Yuksum, .Yuksum is the oldest capital of Sikkim where the first king was consecrated at 1642 A.D. It also has the oldest existing Monastery built during 1700 A.D. In the late afternon arrive at Yukusm. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5 : Yuksam – Tsoska (3030 meters, 6 hours)
Morning after breakfast start trekking to reach Yuksum by covering approx. 5 kms in 2 hrs. Rest of the day free to visit the oldest monastery and the surrounding area. In the evening back to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 : Tsoska – Dzongri (4020 meters 5 hours)
In the morning after breakfast we will start our trek towards Dzongri with packed lunch, A steep trail zigzags up through temperate forest and large clusters of rhododendrons, to the vast clearing of Phedang. During April and May, the spectacle is gorgeous, as the land becomes a mass of flowers (400 species have been listed so far). In the later afternoon arrive at Dzongri. In the have your dinner. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 : Dzongri
The day is for rest and acclimatization. On this day one can view of the mountain peaks by climbing up to Dzongri Top. From here you get a panoramic view of Kabru (7353 m), Ratong (6678 m), Kanchenjunga (8534 m), Koktang (6147 m), Pandim (6691 m) and Narsing (5825 m). Towards the west, the Singalila Ridge, which separates Sikkim from Nepal, can be seen. Dinner and overnight stay at Camps.
Day 8 : Dzongri – Thangshing (3930 meters, 4 hours)
Today we will be descending through rhododendron forest towards the the glacial Prek river. We establish our campsite on the grassy pastures of Thangshing. The southern ridge of Kanchenjunga and the Onglakhing glacier are visible directly ahead and there are close-up views of Pandim. In the night have your dinner. Overnight at Camps.
Day 9 : Thangshing – Samiti Lake (4200 meters, 3 Hours)
In the morning after breakfast we will start our trek towards, Samiti Lake via Onglakhing glacier, and climb up to the shores of the Samity lake, reputed to be the sacred source of the Prek river. Ringed by prayer flags, the lake reflects Forked Peak, Kabru North, Gocha Peak and other snow-capped peaks. We will establish our camp site around this beautiful lake. Day 10 : Samiti Lake – Gocha La (4940 meters) – Thansing ( 7 Hours)
Today, we have to leave quite early this morning, as fog and clouds descend on the pass shortly after sunrise. The track to Gocha La climbs steeply through moraines. From the pass, ringed with colorful prayer flags, we can see Kanchenjunga and beyond that, the Talung glacier. And later trek towards Thansing, our campsite. In the night have your dinner. Day 11 :- Thansing – Lampokhari (4230 Meter, 5 hours)
In the morning after breakfast we will start our trekking towards Lampokhari, we steep ascents leads to pass, and then we climb through alpine areas and pass by tiny lakes to reach Lampokhari. In the night have your dinner. Overnight at Camps.
Day 12 :- Lampokhari – Kasturi La (4500 meter) – Kasturi Odar ( 3500 meter) 6 hours.
In the morning after breakfast we will start our trek towards, A steep ascent leads to the pass, from where we descend through a forest. In the late afternoon reach at Kasturi Odar. In the night have your dinner. Overnight at Camps.
Day 13 :- Kasturi Odar – Labdang (2000 meters, 6 hours)
In the morning after breakfast we will start our trekking towards Labdang through a dense forest. In the later afternoon arrive at Labdang. In the night have your dinner. Overnight at camps.
Day 14 :- Labdang – Tashiding ( 1740 meters, 5 hours)
Today trekking is easier, since the atmosphere becoming more humid and heavier as we descend. Overnight at Camps.
Day 15 :- Tashiding – Martam ( 4 Hours drive)
In the morning after breakfast we will visit the Tashiding monastery, one of the most isolated in the Sikkim. And then drive towards Martam. Overnight at hotel.
Day 16 :- Martam – Gangtok ( 1 hours drive)
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel, and drive towards Gantok, On the way we will visit the Rumtek Monastery, it is reputed for its religious Tibetan art. Visitors are here most welcomed to attend the prayers. Rest of the day at leisure at Gangtok. Overnight at hotel.
Day 17 :- Gangtok – Bagdogra – Delhi
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel, and transferred to the domestic airport to catch the flight for Delhi. Upon arrival at Delhi check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 18 :- Delhi – Departure
In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and departure for the international airport to catch the flight for onward destination.
