A ten days trip which involves drive to Gangotri , the ancient source of the holy river Ganga and trek to the finest high altitude Himalayan lake, Kedar tal (4912 mts) and further Patangni Dhar punctuated with breath stopping close view of Greater Himalayan peaks e.g. Thaleysagar (6904 mts), Brigupanth (6772 mts) and Jogin Group of peaks , Gangtri group , Rudugaira and others . The emerald lake with melting snow of Kedar glacier originates kedarganga, a tributary of Bhagirathi, considered as lord Shiva,’s contribution to Bhagirathi. One can encounter a good variety of high altitude fauna e.g. Bharal (blue sheep), Goral, Himalayan black bear with a great variety of birds.
Outline Day to Day Itinerary:
- Day 01:Arrival Delhi
- Day 02:Arriva Kathgodam & Drive To Loharkhet
- Day 03:Loharkhet – Kharkiya ( 5 HRS BY JEEP ) & TREK TO KHATI (5 kms, 2 hrs)
- Day 04:Khati – Dwali (2575 M/8498 FT)
- Day 05:Dwali – Phurkta (14300 FT) TO PINDARI CAMP SITE 3660 MTS (12,000 feet).
- Day 06:PINDARI GLACIER CAMP – DWALI
- Day 07:Bagubassa – Roopkund (4450 mts/14600 ft) – Bedni Bugyal (7-8 hrs)
- Day 08:Bedni Bugyal – Wan (10 km/ 3-4 hrs) – Rudraprayag
- Day 09:Rudraprayag – Haridwar – Delhi
- Day 10:Delhi – Departure
Detail Itinerary
- Day 01:Arrive- DelhiOn arrival meeting and assistance at the Airport followed by the traditional welcome by garlanding and then escorted transfer to your hotel . Rest of the day at leisure . overnight at hotel.
- Day 02:Delhi- ShimlaIn the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel, and drive towards Shimla, Upon arrival at Shimla check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
- Day 03:Shimla – ManaliIn the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel, and drive towards Manali, Upon arrival at Manali check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
- Day 04:Manali – Solang – NallahIn the morning drive to Solang Nallah, A base camp by the side of river Beas abd faniys Ski slope, offers a panoramic view of snow crapped peaks, particularly Hanuman Tibba. Overnight at camps.
- Day 05:Solnag – Bakar ThachA level trek of 8 Km to Dhundi plateau after crossing beas over a small snow bridge offers glimpses of Indrashan and Deo Tibba and is a popular camping site, also favourite abode of Gaddi tribe, A steep ascent of 4 Km leads to Bakar thach- tented camp site for night halt.
- Day 06:Bakar Thach – Beas KundThis steep and strenuous trek lies over loosely held boulders on dying glaciers. The beas kund is believed to be the source of river Beas, named after the sage Vyasa, author of epic Mahabharat, enjoy the natural splendour and return to Bakar Thach. Overnight at Camps.
- Day 07:Dhundi – Shagara – Dug ( 3600 meter, 10 Kms)Another beautiful camping site – across river Beas, through river Beas, through dense and enchanting forests.
- Day 08:Dug – Marchi – Manali (3380 meter, 10 Kms)This entire trek is precipitous and over patches of loose soil over perennial snow. A detour from Shagar dug can take to Sheela sar also called Dashaur lake that rejoins at Marhi. From Marhi one can proced to Manali by road. The Bhrigu Lake(Kund) at an altitude of 4240 meter is a 12 Km trek from Rohtangs Pass. Marhi is located on National Highway, A little short of Rohtang Pass. From here we will catch our car to Manali. Overnight at hotel.
- Day 09:Manali – ChandigarhIn the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel, and drive towards Chandigarh, Upon arrival at Chandigarh, check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
- Day 10:Chandigarh – DelhiIn the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and we will take a half day sightseeing tour before leaving to Delhi by visiting Pinjore Garden, Rock Garden & Sukhna Lake, later drive towards Delhi, Upon arrival at Delhi, Check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
- Day 11:Delhi – DepartureIn the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel, and transfer to the IGI airport to catch the flight for onward destina.
