Kolahoi Glacier is known as Goddess of Light in western Himalaya as millions of Indian and Pakistani people depend on the water that it supplies to them perennially as Kolahoi is Kashmir’s only perennial source of water. Located just below the Kolahoi mountain and up the Lidder Valley, Kolahoi Glacier is a hanging glacier and is five kilometres long.

Outline Day to Day Itinerary:

  • Day 01:Arrival Delhi
  • Day 02:Arriva Kathgodam & Drive To Loharkhet
  • Day 03:Loharkhet – Kharkiya ( 5 HRS BY JEEP ) & TREK TO KHATI (5 kms, 2 hrs)
  • Day 04:Khati – Dwali (2575 M/8498 FT)
  • Day 05:Dwali – Phurkta (14300 FT) TO PINDARI CAMP SITE 3660 MTS (12,000 feet).
  • Day 06:PINDARI GLACIER CAMP – DWALI
  • Day 07:Bagubassa – Roopkund (4450 mts/14600 ft) – Bedni Bugyal (7-8 hrs)
  • Day 08:Bedni Bugyal – Wan (10 km/ 3-4 hrs) – Rudraprayag
  • Day 09:Rudraprayag – Haridwar – Delhi
  • Day 10:Delhi – Departure

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01:Arrive- DelhiOn arrival meeting and assistance at the Airport followed by the traditional welcome by garlanding and then escorted transfer to your hotel . Rest of the day at leisure . overnight at hotel
  • Day 02:Delhi to Srinagar: ( By air – 1½ hrs)On arrival to Srinagar our representative will meet you at Srinagar airport and you will be escorted by car from airport to houseboat. Welcome drink on arrival at houseboat. The remaining day will be spent in exploring the Mughal gardens, Chashimi-e-shahi (The royal spring) ,Nishat (The garden of pleasure) , Shalimarbagh (Abode of love ) & Shankaracharya temple. In the afternoon enjoy shikra ride on Dal lake. ( Shikra ride on your own cost).
  • Day 03:Srinagar – Pahalgam – Aru (Altitude 2420 Mtrs. 105 Kms 3 1/2 Hours Drive)The drive from Srinagar to Pahalgam (The Valley of Shepherds ), Kashmir’s premier resort, takes about 4 hours. On the way you’ll cross the Kashmiri country side with fruit orchards and saffron fields. In springtime the orchards and the saffron fields are blossoming in shades of pink and white. Through high meadows surrounded by forest we trek up the gently rising trail to the pretty village of Aru, 11 km from Pahalgam.

    Aru is a very small village located on the banks of Lidder river and is surrounded by mountains on all sides.There are some hotels around, which take care of tourists in peak season. There is a pony stand as well, from where one can hire ponies / horses for small excursions. At Aru, the camp is already set up for you beside the Lidder River. Lidder river flows through Aru and this trek to Kolahoi glacier traverses along with this river to its origin. Here you will eat a delicious dinner around the fire and camp for the night.
  • Day 04:Aru – Lidderwat Base Camp ( Altitude 3049 Mtrs. 11 Kms Trek )Lidderwat is a valley situated at 11 kms from Aru. Start an early morning from Aru and soon you will reached a spot from where you could see the entire Aru village and area around.

    Another 15 minutes climb took us to a plateau on top of the mountain. The views around this place were amazing overnight at the beautiful Lidder Watt campsite which is situated by a stream that runs straight from the glacier into the Tarsar Lake.
  • Day 05:Lidder Watt – Kolahoi – Lidderwat Base Camp (Altitude 4000 Mtrs. 13-14 Kms Trek)From Lidderwat the trail follows the west bank of the Lidder through Gujjar encampments to the largest nomadic village in the area at Satlanjan. The Kolahoi peak (5,734 metres) is usually clouded over by midmorning, so it is wise to start early from Satlanjan. The entire route is widely open through conifer forests & flowering meadows.

    Kolhoi Glacier is a valley glacier in the northwestern Himalayan Range situated 26 kilometers north from Pahalgam and 16 kilometers south Passing by shepherd encampments in heavenly locations we reach to the high snows and stand face to face with the impressive Kolahoi glacier and peakThe glacier, climbing from 3400 m up to 4000 m descends from the twin peaks (5425 m) that tower majestically overhead. In order to get good views, we’ll climb up to at least 3400 m (at the foot of the glacier), but climbing on another hour is even more rewarding. Overnight is in your campsite at Lidder Watt.
  • Day 06:Lidder Watt – Aru (11 Kms Trek Ends) Pahalgam – Srinagar (96 Kms 3 Hours Drive)Morning after breakfast you will trek back to the lushness of the valley and reach Aru by the early afternoon. We return back further to Srinagar by car where you will be taken to the houseboat on the lake.
  • Day 07:Srinagar SightseeingToday we’ll spend a full day seeing the sights of Srinagar. We’ll visit the famous Mughal Gardens and a number of other heritages places: Cheshmashahi Garden ( built by Shah Jehan in 1632 AD.), Pari Mahal (built by Dara Shikoh), Nishat Garden (built by Asif Khan in 1633 AD.), Shalimar garden (built by Shah Jehangir in 1616 AD.) and Hazratbal Mosque. After seeing the old city of Srinagar, we’ll return by mid afternoon to the houseboat for a rest and a relaxed farewell-dinner. Overnight stay at the houseboat.
  • Day 08:Transfer to International AirportAfter an early breakfast transfer to airport to connect flight for onward Destination Covered.
