The Sham dale sited in the minor fraction of Ladakh is renowned for its prettiness and affluence through the harvesting term. This Lamayuru to Chilling Trek goes after the old line route to Lamayuru region which moves away from the Kargil -Leh path at the Photu La territory. Consistent with myth, Lamayuru was one time famous as a lake, which amazingly vanished by the hand of Lotsawa and Naropa. The monastery at Lamayuru area erected in the time of 10th century is single of the oldest in Ladakh, and relates to the Kargyu faction of Tibetan Buddhism. Lamayuru to Chilling Trek presents not only vision of the numerous wildlife beauties of Ladakh, but also several of its most prominent monasteries and the conventional way of life of the citizens.

The tour of Lamayuru to Chilling Trek was completed within the 9days trip which was started from the Delhi destination. The further day of the tour, the trekker flies towards Leh and treks in the striking region of Shey, Thiksey and Hemis in Leh. In the 4th day of the Lamayuru to Chilling Trek, visitors run towards Lamayuru and whole day they wander in the valleys of Lamayuru for enjoyment and watch many Gompas too. The next day of the tour, from Lamayuru trekers turns towards Wanla, Hinju, Sumda Doksa, Dung Dung Chan la base, and in the end they reach in Chilling for trekking. The final day of the Lamayuru to Chilling trek, visitors depart to Leh and turn towards their homes with memorable scene of Chilling trek.

Outline Day to Day Itinerary:

  • Day 01:Arrival Delhi
  • Day 02:Arriva Kathgodam & Drive To Loharkhet
  • Day 03:Loharkhet – Kharkiya ( 5 HRS BY JEEP ) & TREK TO KHATI (5 kms, 2 hrs)
  • Day 04:Khati – Dwali (2575 M/8498 FT)
  • Day 05:Dwali – Phurkta (14300 FT) TO PINDARI CAMP SITE 3660 MTS (12,000 feet).
  • Day 06:PINDARI GLACIER CAMP – DWALI
  • Day 07:Bagubassa – Roopkund (4450 mts/14600 ft) – Bedni Bugyal (7-8 hrs)
  • Day 08:Bedni Bugyal – Wan (10 km/ 3-4 hrs) – Rudraprayag
  • Day 09:Rudraprayag – Haridwar – Delhi
  • Day 10:Delhi – Departure

Detail Itinerary

  • Day 01:Arrive – DelhiOn arrival meet and assist at the Airport with our local representative and facilitate you check in at the hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 02:Delhi – LehMeet on arrival at Leh airport by our Representative and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day for relaxation, this is necessary for getting acclimatized. Overnight stay at hotel.
  • Day 03:Leh SightseeingOn this day you will go a sightseeing trip to some ancient monasteries in this area.such as Hemis Gompa, shay palce, stakna, Thiksey Monastery. In the evening back to hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
  • Day 04:Leh -Lamayuru (3 to hours drive approx)- Wanla 3250 meters(3 to 4 hours approx)In the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel and drive towards Lamayuru (3 hours drive approx) along the Indus River through Sham valley. En route- we will visit Lamayuru monastery, After visiting the Lamayuru Monastery, we start our trek towards Wanla, We will gradually move up to the small Pass of Prinkti La (3750m). then we walk down a narrow gorge to the small village of Shilla, and the last 3 km will take us to Wanla (3250m). Overnight at Camps.
  • Day 05:Wanla -Hinju 3720 meters (4 to 5 hours approx)In the morning we will leave our campsite early then follow a dusty road to get the small village of Phenjilla (3410 meters) and the scattered village of Uri .Then pass through a narrow gorge until we reach a traditional Rangthak (flour mill) at end of the village. Overnight at Camps.
  • Day 06:Hinju -Sumda Doksa 4430m (5-6 hrs)From the encampment we will continue along the trail and ascend the ridge below Kongskil La (4950m). If lucky we will get glimpses of some wild life. We will then climb gradually until we reach Kongskil La where we will be surrounded by dizzying views of the Karakoram and Stok ranges. Overnight at Camps.
  • Day 07:Sumda Doksa – Dung Dung Chan la base 4430 meters(4 to 5 hours approx)After a short walk and a few river crossings, we will reach the village of Sumda Chenmo. From here we moves towards the true left side of the valley, which provides a beautiful view of the village with its lush greenery. From the campsite you can see amazing view of Konskila. Overnight at Camps.
  • Day 08:Dung Dung Chan La base – Chilling 3550m – (5 hours approx)-Leh( 3 hours drive )Today we will ends our trek with a straight forward climb to Dungdung Chan La (4820m), which offers views of the beautiful vistas of the Stok Range in the east and the Zanskar Range in the south. From the pass the trail gradually descends down a ridge toward the valley continually tapering before reaching the village of Chilling. Chilling is the only village in Ladakh that has provided metal works such as copper, bronze, tin, silver and iron to the Leh market through the centuries. From Chilling we will drive for about 3 hours along the Zanskar River to reach our hotel in Leh. Overnight at hotel.
  • Day 09:Leh – DelhiIn the morning after breakfast check out from the hotel, and drive towards Chandigarh, Upon arrival at Chandigarh, check in at the hotel. Overnight at hotel.
